For Sweet Breanne!

I did this page for my dear friend Breanne. She's redoing her scrap room and she asked me to create something for her room. I was sooo flattered that such a great scrapper would ask me to do something for her...

So, here it is, Bre! Hope you like it :)

And now, Colleen and Greta's tag...

Here are the rules:
1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
2. Players, must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
3. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

My middle name is Maria.

*M: Mother. I have always had a perfect relationship with my Mom. Always. I am one of those people who wishes she could turn out like her mother.

*A: Autumn. It has always been my absolute fave season. Nothing better that a sunset in the fall...

*R: Recess. I am painfully shy and I always dreaded recess when I was starting junior high in Haiti. It meant having to socialize with other people, in a language I was barely speaking. The horror!!!

*I: India. Unlike most people, India is one of those countries I would never visit. I don't think I could handle it...

*A: AM. I am not really a morning person, but there's nothing I enjoy more than being out of the house bright and early (once I get over the getting out bed part).

I tag:
Anyone and everyone who wants to play along!! It's fun :)

Have a marvelous weekend!

This gorgeous little face got me into the Runway at SIS again!!! I am too excited, check me out here.

I sent the last of my LOs to Crystal for the book. I am very happy with the work I did. I can't wait to have the book in my hands and share it with you guys.
It'll be out next Spring.

Yesterday afternoon I went to the movies and I saw Stardust. OMG!!! The best movie of the Summer without a doubt.
It has everything: romance, fantasy, action, comedy. Something for everyone!
I highly recommend it. Go watch it as soon as you can, you'll thank me for it :)

Now that my scrappy deadlines have all been met, I am gonna start creating the jewelry. As soon as I have something to show you , I'll post it here. I'm very excited!!

Thank you all so, so much for all the congrats and the kudos you have given me! They make it all even sweeter.

Weekend scrappiness!!

ETA: Go check out the new Work in Progress blog. How cool is it??? Trish made the banner and my super master hubby put it up in the blog.
Let me know what you guys think, OK?

I had a blast this Saturday at my crop. We finally were able to get together at Ivette's to scrap.
I was very productive and did 4 whole pages. I could hardly believe it myself.
We talked and ate great snacks and we even did our own Round Robin. So much fun!! You have to try it.

Some pics of the crop at Ivette's very 80's event room... :)

Vane taking my pic (which hope she has since deleted...)

Ady hard at work on her great pages

These are the pages I created...

Again, I had a blast with those girls that I love! Yes, I love them all!!!

Nati's almost here from school and I have to go. Have the most wonderful week!

It's all good...

I'm just sitting here at home, looking out the dinning room window. The sun is coming in, I'm watching the ducks get in the lake, sipping some delicious espresso and feeling so lucky.
I love my house, I love this city and I never want to leave.
I am so thankful to be able to live here and enjoy this beautiful weather, the safety, all the new great friends I have found...

Life is just beautiful all around!

I finished all my book assignments and I am very happy with the work I did. I hope you all will be too. Wish I could share it. Soon...

I was checking the new release over at Quickutz and I found this beauty that I just have to have (insert "I have no money" sigh here)....

How cool is it?!?!?! Maybe for Christmas...

Even though I have been scrapping like a maniac on speed, I still have Mojo left. I'm so happy it's sticking around, cause I have a big crop this Saturday and I want to actually scrap instead of just stare at my supplies.

I have a full day of cleaning and laundry ahead and I better get started...
See you later, homes!!

I never thought I'd ever say this but....

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got an e-mail last week from the one and only, Memory Makers Master, miss Crystal Jeffrey Rieger. She is publishing the coolest book ever and she asked me to contribute to it, with not one or two, but 8 pages!!!!!
Needless to say I am over the moon happy and honored to have been considered for this.
The book comes out next year and you guys are gonna love it.

I have all my photos printed and lots of gorgeous new CHA paper to start working on my assignments. I am so happy that Mr. Mojo has been here for a long visit and he seems to be fully cooperating.

This is all just so incredible to me. I can hardly believe all this coolness is coming to me without even looking for it. Cool, cool stuff indeed.

I haven't been able to stop smiling :) :) :)

Now onto the enabling... You know I have to share the goodness with y'all.
Look at the latest stamp set I got...

They were designed by a SISter, Elly, who has the coolest style ever.
You can get them in her Etsy store. And do it fast. They won't last long.

You want more great stuff??? Well, have you seen Studio Calico's peeks for their September kit?? Go check them out. They are gorgeous!!

Here's a little taste for you...

Click on the link to the right to go there.

I'm off to Curves. I have to get back into the groove of it again, after being sick for two weeks... Yikes!

Can't think of a title...

but, I've been meaning to blog about these little gems I got. They are Quickutz' new dies for the Revolution machine, called Cookie Cutters.

How great and versatile are they for scrapping?? I'm specially in love with the scalloped flowers. Plus, they cut through felt like buttah!!

Speaking of Quickutz, Natasha Hixon, the owner, has started a great blog about her quest to adopt 3 Haitian children.
I am half Haitian (on my Dad's side) and I lived there almost 9 years of my life, from 1985 to 1993.

It's a weird, strange place, full of contrasts, and things both wonderful and terrible.
Please visit her blog to read all about it. It's an incredible story.
From time to time she needs stuff to help the orphanage where her kids are, and if you could help it would mean the world to her and those kids who have nothing.

I got an e-mail last week that made me so incredibly happy I could barely sleep...
I'll tell you all about it tomorrow...

Have a great week!

Thursday, August 16, 2007

I can't wait...

To get my hands on this deliciousness...

...and start palying with it.

It's gonna be full of great new CHA stuff, see more here!

I am still over the moon happy with the news I got yesterday. I am so nervous and I have a stomach full of butterflies!!

Thank you so much for all the congrats and the kind words you left for me. Being able to share this with you makes it all much sweeter!!

I got some great mail yesterday too!! A big envelope from Cathy who sent me lovely things that I just had to use to make a little collage.

Also got my new Fontwerks stamps that I was soooo craving. How cool are they???
(Barb, I have some for you too!!!)

I'm so hungry I'm feeling faint, so I'm off to have some breakfast.

Have a great Thursday!

I can finally share!!!!!

I made it into the Cupcake Scrapshop design team!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy and nervous and excited to be a part of this. My first time trying for a DT and I land it?!?!?!? And, I am gonna be working with some insanely talented scrappers:
Marci Lambert
Lucrecer Braxton
Alison Flynn
and last, but not least
Elise Blaha

Could it get any better????

I have to give a BIG shout out to Colleen for giving me this incredible opportunity!!

Come see the kit before it sells out!!

I did some LOs with this kit and you can see them here.

I got some great happy mail all the way from Sweden. All tucked in the cutest purple envelope from my sweet, and super talented friend Lisa.
Thank you so much for this great RAK!!!
Check it out..

Have a super duper Wednesday!!!

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Hello, my name is Anilu...

and I am an enabler.

How much do you want this???? Go to Work in Progress and get it while you can!!

Enough teasing...

Here's the whole thing! And guess who'll be guest designer???? The amazing Jamie Waters.
I cannot wait to see her work with this killer kit :)

I am feeling much better today! Still missing them like crazy and feeling a void in the house, but life has to go on. I thank God for iSight every day, being able to see them, makes the distance much easier to bare.

I cleaned and did tons of laundry and that kept me occupied almost all day. I scrapped a little, and I am too happy to report that the A/C was fixed right away!!!

ETA: but, of course, it broke again during the night and this house is a sauna by now... Still, I'm trying to be "zen" about it :) ???

Thank you all soooooo much for the kind words you left for me yesterday. I really, really needed them :)
You all rock!

Please come back tomorrow, I have some news I MUST share...

Everything sucks!!!

I am in a foul mood. No cheery, nice post full of pictures today.
My Mom, sister and niece left yesterday and I have been felling just awful ever since. I can't stop crying, I have a killer headache, didn't sleep too weel and to top it all off...

THE CENTRAL AC IN OUR APARTMENT IS NOT WORKING... ON A SUNDAY.... IN MIAMI... DURING A PRETTY MEAN HEAT WAVE!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not one of those people who enjoy the heat, I hate it. I need to be cold to be comfortable and right now, I am breathing tepid air.

No doubt, when it rains, it pours...

ARGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

She's 4!!!!!

Blink...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY BABY GIRL!!!!

I'm off to enjoy a day filled with fun, cake, presents, Ratatouille, the park and anything and everything she wants!!

Later!

My Darejack...

This is my take on the Darejack #1: Kristina Contes. I love her work, and I am having lots of fun doing these Scrapjacked challenges.

I had never been into the challenge blogs, but I really like this one.

Tomorrow's Natalia's 4th birthday! She is so excited and so happy to have the girls here to celebrate with her. I am putting together a little picnic for her and we're gonna spend some time at the park. I hope the weather cooperates :)

I'm still feeling miserable and I really hope this cold goes away soon. I've had it already!!!

I've been trying to scrap, but I'm not feeling it right now. I need some inspiration...

That's all I have for now.

Peace out!

A new low has been reached...

by reality TV with this little gem...

The Two Coreys. Where to begin... It's just painful to watch, but I cannot look away.
It's about nothing in particular. They talk about making The Lost Boys 2 in the second show, so I thought, OK, maybe this will be about those two seriously trying to make that happen, but no. The idea gets shut down immediately, so WTH is this show about????
Feldman's all perfect and Haim's a slob, and for some strange reason, Haim's now living at Feldman's (????) for a few weeks.
Susie, Feldman's wife, is in the show to complain incessantly about Haim's every move, and it gets incredibly annoying very, very soon.

Like anyone who was a child in the 80's I had a BIG crush on the Coreys, and I watched The Lost Boys, Lucas, License to Drive and all their movies many times. I really wanted to be their girlfriend, no doubt.
To see them drop even lower that they had already in the past 20 years is just painful. Yet I'm gonna keep watching 'cause I have to find out what the show's purpose is.

I'm still sick, very, very sick. I am not feeling any better and I have so much stuff to do this week that I cannot put off.

Nati turns 4 on Wednesday!!!!! I have to be in shape to make her day a great one. It's also my family's last week here in Miami and I am really pissed to be feeling so incredibly bad and not being able to enjoy my last days of summer with them.

My head's about to explode from the massive amounts of coughing I've been doing, my eyes are all watery and burning like hell, add the runny nose and all those other wonderful things and you can get the picture.

Not pretty, Not at all.

Please send some good healing vibes my way.
